The ESP-12E WiFi module is developed by Ai-thinker and is based on the ESP8266 core processor, which is characterized by the presence of a WiFi radio interface. The ESP8266 core is integrated into the Tensilica L106, a 32-bit microcontroller with ultra-low power consumption. It supports 80 and 160 MHz clock frequencies, RTOS support, integrated Wi-Fi MAC/BB/RF/PA/LNA, microstrip antenna on the module board.

The module supports IEEE802.11 b/g/n standard, full TCP/IP protocol stack. Users can use the modules either as an add-on to connect any device to the network or as a standalone network controller.

Key features

  • Built-in 32-bit MCU with low power consumption
  • Built-in 10-bit ADC
  • Built-in TCP/IP protocol stack
  • Built-in RF switch, RF impedance transformer, LNA, power amplifier
  • Built-in FHR and power control units
  • Wi-Fi 2.4G, WPA/WPA2 support
  • SDIO 2.0, (H) SPI, UART, I2C, I2S, IRDA, PWM, GPIO
  • STBC, 1x1 MIMO, 2x1 MIMO
  • Deep sleep mode consumption < 10µA, leakage current in off mode < 5µA
  • Wake-up and packet transmission in < 2 ms;
  • Output power +20 dBm in 802.11b mode
  • Operating temperature range from -40 to 125 ºC.
